The portal is a milestone in the Agency’s Digital Transformation Plan and a key tool for the reform of Spanish Cooperation.

The Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) has launched its new data portal, a milestone within its Digital Transformation Plan and a key tool for the reform of Spanish Cooperation.

The new portal strengthens the Agency’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and public access to information, providing citizens with a clear and structured view of its work and activities.

EASY AND VISUAL ACCESS TO INFORMATION

The portal enables users to access information on projects and initiatives financed by AECID in an intuitive and user-friendly way. It is organized around three main sections:

  • Data at a Glance, which provides general and aggregated information on AECID’s activities through clear and visual displays. This section includes, among other features, information on the origin of funds, their geographic distribution, alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and trends over time.
  • Intervention Data, which offers to detailed information on each project or initiative financed by AECID. For every intervention, users can consult data such as the title, description, and objectives, implementation period, beneficiary entity, disbursed amount, countries or regions of intervention, as well as the main sectors and areas of work.
  • Featured projects, which expanded information on selected initiatives due to their relevance, scope, or their ability to illustrate the Agency’s work in different contexts.

The portal also includes a frequently asked questions section that helps users better understand Spain’s role in international cooperation for sustainable development and global solidarity.

TRANSPARENCY AND DATA-DRIVEN COOPERATION

The creation of the AECID Data Portal forms part of the AECID’s Digital Transformation Plan for 2026–2029 and contributes to broader the reform of Spanish Cooperation, by making clear, accessible and systematic information available to citizens, beneficiaries and all stakeholders involved in the cooperation system.

Through this initiative, AECID reinforces its commitment to a more open, transparent and results-oriented cooperation model, in line with the principles established in Law 1/2023 on Cooperation for Sustainable Development and Global Solidarity.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT AND UPDATES

In its initial version, the portal includes data on interventions approved in 2024 and 2025. Information from previous years, as well as newly approved projects will be progressively incorporated, creating an increasingly comprehensive, useful, and up-to-date data ecosystem.
